A note from the builder

Materia Magica began as a gift — something I built for my wife, so she could deepen her craft, track her practice, and have a space that felt truly her own. What started as a simple idea grew into something neither of us expected: a layered, living platform for practitioners across many traditions, still evolving nearly by the hour.

As it grew, so did the question: should we share this?

The honest answer is that we're not sure yet. What I do know is that running and growing something like this — even quietly — carries real cost. That cost is one I'm glad to carry for my wife. But extending it to others would require a sustainable model, and the only path I can see is a modest subscription.

I want to be clear about something: I genuinely dislike pay-to-play. The idea that access to tools for spiritual practice should be gated behind a credit card sits uneasily with me. But as someone building this largely alone, I have no other honest way to sustain it at scale.

So instead of opening the doors before I understand the demand, I've chosen to pause account creation and offer a waitlist. If interest is strong, I have no shortage of ideas to build toward — and I'll be asking for yours too. If it's modest, I'll do my best to bring in as many practitioners as I reasonably can.
